There is a company called 'Caig Laboratories' that makes a product called 'D5 De-Oxit'. It works wonders on dirty and oxidized connectors. I use it for pro-audio connectors, and it works great. Just spray a little bit in the female end then work the mating connector in and out a few times. Wipe away any left over solution. It's available at most industrial electronics supply stores. In Dallas you can get it at 'Off the Shelf Components'.
Hope this helps.
