I used chemical stripping on the TR. It's an effective method. I lightly scratch the painted surface with 80 grit paper taking care not to touch the metal, apply a thick coat of stripper with a brush (wear a mask, gloves and goggles) and cover the wet surfaces with plastic sheets: with the plastic, the stripper does not dry as fast and the sanding helps the stuff penetrate the painted surface. Use a plastic putty scraper to take off the old finish, and steel wool on stubborn spots. Rinse with plenty of water. Et voila, c'est fini!
